Join us as author Ryan Rapier, brother of Plan B Theatre's Jerry Rapier, reads and signs his book, The Reluctant Blogger, on Monday, September 2, at 7 PM!

Ever since he lost his wife, Todd Landry hasn’t been the same. Everyone he knows seems to expect him to just forget Marci and move on—especially when he meets Emily. But dating again is hard when Todd has three kids of his own, not to mention an overbearing father and friends with problems of their own. Todd knows he’s in a bad place. That’s why he went to a therapist in the first place. So when Dr. Schenk threatens to stop their sessions unless Todd puts in more effort, he grasps at the last available straw: a personal blog that will force Todd to confront his demons. Championing friendship, love, and family, Ryan Rapier deals adeptly with the everyday struggles we face as well as the strongest ties that keep us together. You’re sure to fall in love with this magnificent tale of redemption, forgiveness, and new beginnings.

We are pleased to present Kirstin Scott reading and signing her book, Motherlunge, on Saturday, September 7, at 4 PM!

Motherlunge is an eloquent and irreverent novel about first sex, true love, chronic sibling rivalry; it’s about the deepest fear of young (and not-so-young) adulthood: the fear of inheriting a disappointing life. It’s motherly advice, too—featuring wigs, dogs, road trips, and medicine—a guide to the essential experiences of being female, “born unto a librarian, named for the goddess of sight,” waiting for the future to arrive. With sly wit and surprising joy, Motherlunge considers the flaws in the family line and celebrates the promise that staggers alongside.

Join us Jason King reads and signs his book, The Lure of Fools on Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 PM!

Jason King wishes he was raised on a desert planet by his aunt and uncle and watched over by a mysterious old recluse, but his life is much duller than that. He supposes that’s why he started making up stories. Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Jason grew up on a steady diet of anime, science fiction, Dungeons and Dragons, JRPG’s, and chocolate cake donuts. He pretended not to be a nerd just long enough to get married and start a family. And although dismayed by the revelation that Jason was a geek, his wife stuck with him and they are now the proud parents of four beautiful children. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in I.T. Management and is currently the Internet Marketing Manager for a local bookstore chain, but he is determined to one day quit his “9 to 5” and write full-time. Jason has two indie books; Valcoria Children of the Crystal Star and Thomas Destiny, but The Lure of Foolsis his first published novel.

Paul Sheldon, the world famous author of the Misery Chastain novels, has wrecked his car in Colorado in the middle of a blizzard. Annie Wilkes, former nurse and Paul's self-proclaimed Number One Fan, has found him. The events that follow present a truly terrifying window into human obsession, desire...and fear!

There will be a silent auction held during the reading to benefit Silver Summit Theatre Company!

Silver Summit Theatre Company seeks to explore questions about the human experience using Performance Art as our common language. They maintain that live theatre is not a provider of answers, but rather an invitation to query. They are committed to exploring these questions whether they are found in the classics, contemporary works, or new plays. They choose plays that challenge our moral and social consciences, inviting our audiences to be provoked, stimulated and entertained. They strive to provide exposure to works that are rarely produced in our local area, and to provide educational opportunities to the community we serve.
